PhoneWatch, the market leader in monitored home security solutions in the Republic of Ireland has announced it is to create 230 new jobs as it expands operations in Ireland. The new roles are in engineering, sales and operational areas of the business. Recruitment will commence immediately. Welcoming the announcement Ireland South Candidate Deirdre Clune said,

“PhoneWatch, like many other Irish businesses, feel confident enough to expand their operations here in Ireland. The company currently has 150 employees. The new expansion will see PhoneWatch open offices in Cork and 11 other regional centres.

“As a Cork representative, it is my responsibility to ensure that Cork gets its fair share of the ongoing economic recovery. As the economy recovers we have to make sure it is on a balanced regional basis. We cannot have successive job announcements for Dublin at the expense of cities like Cork”

“The population of Dublin is close on 6 times that of Cork. Countries with a strong second tier city tend to perform better economically. Cork is a vibrant confident City and County and we have to ensure that our voices are heard when it comes bringing new and existing companies to Cork”

“I would like to congratulate PhoneWatch on their expansion. I think they will find an open and well educated pool of willing employees in Cork and I would hope that they would consider expanding their operations here in the future”

“Recruitment for the positions in PhoneWatch will begin immediately. The company have exciting and ambitious plans for growth in the Irish market. They are one of a number of companies who are expanding as the economy returns to growth”
