€3 million had been spent on the Carrigaline Health Centre when the project was cancelled last year. The HSE have now promised to fast track the project under its PPP programme.

Cork County Council will have to carry out immediate investigations into the flooding that hit Carrigaline, Ballygarvan, Rochestown and Glenbrook if it ti be avoided in the future.

The decision to cancel the building of a new Health Centre in Carrigaline is shortsighted and ignores the needs of the community. It also means that the taxpayers’ money spent on purchasing a site, designing a new Health Centre and obtaining planning permission has been wasted.
