The condition of the Rochestown Road has been allowed deteriorate to an unacceptable extent for such a busy road and is a major concern for local residents and regular road users. Cork County Council have now announced a plan for traffic calming and road improvement works and the public have until the 17th July to make submissions.

The Minister for Education will spend almost €4 million renting 282 prefabs in 116 Cork schools. The question must be asked is the Government spending taxpayers’ money wisely? Surely an accelerated programme of school building would not only create employment but also put an end to this false economy.
