The condition of the Rochestown Road has been allowed deteriorate to an unacceptable extent for such a busy road and is a major concern for local residents and regular road users. Cork County Council have now announced a plan for traffic calming and road improvement works and the public have until the 17th July to make submissions.

The National Famine Commemoration gives us an opportunity to look at how the Great Famine impacted on local areas. A maintenance programme for famine graveyards would allow a local place of commemoration.
