Deirdre Clune to run for Seanad

The Fine Gael Party has nominated former Cork South Central TD Deirdre Clune to stand for the party on the Seanad Cultural & Educational Panel.

Responding to the nomination Deirdre Clune stated:

The new Fine Gael/Labour Government faces many difficult challenges but I believe it has the potential to be the most reforming Government ever elected in Ireland.

The very positive steps taken by Enda Kenny and his new team since being elected to Government have clearly demonstrated this potential.

As a TD and member of the Fine Gael front bench in the last Dáil I played an active role in Fine Gael’s policy formation. The Programme for Government agreed between Fine Gael and Labour provide the new Government with a strong and reforming policy platform and I want to be a voice for these policies in the new Seanad.
