HOUSEHOLDERS and business people in South Parish welcome news that Cork city council have agreed to fund a scheme of painint to improve the general streetscape and local environment.
As part of the adopted South Parish Area Action Plan, residential and commerical premises owners on Barrack Street, Douglas Street (part of), George’s Quay and Sullivan’s Quay are eligible to apply. Bounding walls and large entrance gates to commercial properties may also be eligible.
I have welcomed the news as I feel that any help from the council is welcome and will help greatly in keeping Cork city beautiful.
Residential properties deemed eligible will receive 75% of the total cost for the external painting works to the maximum of €300 while Commerical properties will receive 50% of the total cost up to a maximum of €500. Further details from 021 4924757.
