Broadband in Primary Schools – Priority Question to the Minister for Education
Filed under: Education, Innovation and Research , also relevant to: Dáil Debate, Innovation, Science & Technology
My Priority Parliamentary Question to the Minister for Education & Skills was:
To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Education and Skills if she is concerned that the historic underinvestment in information and communication technology in schools which has led to only 2% of schools with access to high speed broadband; her plans to address this situation; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
Minister for State Mary White TD answered for Minister Coughlan TD but response is very disappointing. I don’t think the Government understands the potential here for young people and the Ireland of the future if schools were provided with proper ICT & high speed Broadband.
