Heart of Mahon to be included in Cork City Council local area plan
Filed under: Development , also relevant to: Cork, Cork City Council, Local News, mahon
NEWS that Cork City Council are to extend the boundary of the South Mahon Local Area Plan (LAP) to include Avenue De Rennes is welcomed news, however, it should not have been left out in the first place.
Avenue De Rennes is at the very heart of Mahon and it was surprising to see that it had been excluded from the LAP Cork City Council developed. I welcome the news from the council to include the area and feel that it is important that this decision was reversed to ensure that we don’t end up splitting the community in Mahon.
The new plan will address issues such as traffic, transportation and local infrastructure as well as civic and community infrastructures, land use and environmental assessments and objectives.
