Iam a corkman residing in naas , i was booked in to the kingsley hotel on the carrighrohane road on thursday night, On arriving at six o clock that evening i asked the receptionist if their was any flood warnings, she informed me that their was none and that the hotel was never subject to flooding, Friday morning the hotel and general area was completly under water i was one of many guests who had to be evacuated thanks to a local farmer who arrived with a tractor and trailer, over one hundred people were taken out thanks to the tractor.my car is still their in the car park which was under three feet of water on friday,The main thing was nobody was injured /i asked the young lady from the hotel if she had called the emergency services she said she had on several occasions that morning but they said they were at full stretch, the answer i would like to know is if the e.s.b knew that they were going to open the dam why did no one thihk of letting the hotel know so that we could move our cars to higher ground towards model farm rd etc.
