EASA and ECDC guidelines for flying

In the coming weeks, as airlines begin to fly again, ensuring the health safety of air travellers and aviation personnel will be key to the safe resumption of air travel. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) have developed guidelines for every stage of the end-to-end passenger journey. The guidelines take a pragmatic approach in implementation – highlighting and giving guidance on the ways in which individual locations and situations can best be adapted to meet the new health safety standards while recognising that airports, airlines and aircraft are different.

They are intended to complement the advice of public health authorities, to serve as an aviation health safety protocol and to provide a source of best practice on how to protect the health and safety of passengers, as well as staff and crew.
